Spring Thanks

A happy hello to all! Today, I am up on the Magenta blog with this Spring Blooms Thank You card. I created it using a watercolour stamping technique which works wonderfully with a silhouette type of stamp. You can see how the colour blends and migrates beautifully in a variety of unique ways with each watercolour stamping of the image.

Supplies: Large Thank You sentiment and Spring Blossoms stamp (Magenta), Light Green, Green, Cobalt Blue and Blue Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers (Kuretake),  VersaMark (Tsukineko), watercolour paper and fine black embossing powder (Ranger), black cardstock (Bazzill), Turquoise glitter glue (Hampton Arts)

To create this card, I started by placing a 6 3/4" x 4 3/4" piece of Ranger 118 lb cold press watercolour paper in my MISTI and black heat emboss stamped the Thank You sentiment into the centre of the card. Next, I positioned the Spring Blooms stamp in a spot along the top working around the embossed sentiment. Then, I coloured the stamp image's leaves and stems directly with Light Green and Green Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers. Next, I misted the stamp with a few spritzes of water before stamping it onto the watercolour paper. After cleaning off the stamp, I repeated the same steps using Cobalt Blue and Blue on the flowers and blooms. Then, I repositioned the stamp again and repeated the steps a bunch of other times until I had created many flowers along the top of the card. Once dry, I matted the panel on a black card base and added some finishing touches with turquoise glitter glue to the flowers.

I hope I have inspired you to give this technique a try.
