Happy New Year to you! I hope the beginning of 2014 has been kind to you. Here it is really cold with temperatures reaching a low of -34 degrees Celsius. With the wind chill, it was -39 first thing Friday morning! That is brrrrr! Makes you wish for balmier weather.
Today, I am sharing a warmer weather framed layout that I have made as a gift for my MIL. It captures a fun grandchildren adventure that I know she will be thrilled about.
The Prima preprinted canvas base, from my stash, made this simple to put together. I kept it pretty minimal embellishment wise so that the photo would be the focus. A little gesso background, embroidery floss, fabric alphas, and some Prima bling and it was done.

Happy new year to you and I hope the cold weather will dissapear soon. That's really cold -34 celsius....It should be winter here too in the Netherlands and around zero degrees but its +11 Celsius.
Making pages for others is one of my goals for this year...I love your use of Gesso as a mat. I bet your MIL loved it!
What a fun photo and wonderful project you made for your MIL! I'm sure she'll love it! Very cold temps and snow here in NW Ohio...brrr! Take care and stay warm!
Great memento to treasure! Love the fancy scrolled background and cute photo!
LOL, what a fun photo!! I'm sure your MIL loves this frame!
And what an aweful weather you're having! It was on our news today ... brrrr!! Keep warm my friend!!!
Super cute page! I love the stitches!
Oh I love it!!!
What a great gift! I'm sure your MIL will love it. I like the gessoed "photo mat" and the cross stitches.
We had super-cold weather at the beginning of last week, too. (About -40 with wind chill.). But now it's not quite so cold--we're back to "regular" winter temperatures. Hope that Ontario has warmed up some, too!
I am sure she'll b soo delighted to receive this beautiful gift.
The lovely picture with all the grandchildren will melt her heart :-)
Love the title and the stitching!
Thank you for all the visits to my blog and your sweet comments, Cassandra. I appreciate it so much, and I know I haven't been the best to pay a visit back. Some of my DT assignments, which has included lots of mandatory blog visits, are now terminated, and hopefully I will have more time to visit blogs I want to see, like yours (and please, remind me if I fail *lol*).^
What a lovely gift for your MIL, I'm sure she will be very happy with it - the photo is so much fun and you picked the perfect title for it!
Brrrrrrrrrrr so cold! Here in England we're having the usual rain and wind! Bleurgh! Loving this LO :)
