Welcome to a week of fantastic collaboration between IMAGINE Crafts and Magenta Rubber Stamps! Both companies are excited to share with you their products, from the latest inks from IMAGINE Crafts to the newest Fall and Holiday stamp releases from Magenta.
For my first project of the hop, I created a mixed media journal page as an ode to my favourite season of the year.
Magenta products used: Stamps- Ornate Flourish, It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year sentiment, Numbers from the Savvy Symbols stamp set, Autumn Oak Leaf large, Autumn Oak Leaf small; Stencils- Floral Elements, Geometric Trio - circles; Cork Self Adhesive Alphabet Stickers; Mini Alphabet Chipboard Letters; Canvas Fabric Sheet
Imagine Crafts/Tsukinenko products used: Momento Inks- Nautical Blue, Teal Zeal, Cottage Ivy, Love Letter, Gray Flannel, Elderberry, Tuxedo Black; StazOn- Jet Black, Stone Grey, Cloudy Sky, Cactus Green, Pumpkin, Timber Brown; Delicata- Gold Glitz; Irresistibles- Wedding Dress
Other: 9x12 mixed media journal, heavy cardstock, gesso, small piece of burlap, Silhouette digital cutting machine
I started with a gessoed heavy cardstock 8 1/2" x 12" piece and added Momento inks by stamping each colour (Nautical Blue, Teal Zeal, Cottage Ivy and Love Letter) onto a clear acrylic block and then spraying it with water before smooshing it onto the background. I spritzed more water onto the background as needed to move the inks around. The trick is to use a heat gun to dry between ink layers so as not to blend the contrasting colours and ending up with a puddle of brown. I also added a bit of Cactus Green StaxOn and moved it around with a rubbing alcohol dipped makeup sponge.
Then came stamping using the various grey StazOn inks (Stone Grey, Cloudy Sky) and Jet black with the Ornate Flourish, sentiment and Savvy Symbols number stamps (9 and 10 for my favourite fall months). The stamping was alternated with sponged on and Geometric Circle stenciled gesso layers to add depth and texture to the background.
Once dry, I stenciled the floral sprays using the Momento Elderberry and randomly stamped the Delicata Gold Glitz on using a scrap piece of burlap.
Next, came the fore front layer of bold leaf stamping using the Autumn Oak Leaf stamps and Pumpkin StazOn.
By stamping Momento ink onto a craft mat and adding water, I was able to splatter a mix of Momento Love Letter with Flannel Grey (to darken the colour to match the canvas fabric). While it was drying, I coloured the Mini Chipboard Alphabet letters with Black Tuxedo ink, cut "fav" out of the canvas fabric, and then adhered my titling into place.
To finish off the page, I splattered with the Wedding Dress Irresistable by uncapping it and using the spray straw. Once dry, I repeated the craft mat process with Tuxedo Black to splatter on the final touches.
I edged the whole piece with Timber Brown StazOn and again moved the colour around with a rubbing alcohol saturated makeup sponge. Lastly, I adhered it into my journal.
Hope you find some seasonal inspiration to bring to your crafting projects, whether it be fall or spring, in your part of the globe.

Lovely fall inspired project. I used to feel a bit low as Fall approached, but nowadays I'm ok with it! Each seson has a certain charm of it's own, even though Spring brings so much promise of nice weather and light. Fall and Winter can be very damp and greay around here. :-)
Awesome page! I like those cork letters and the stamps are my fav.
